About Nicole Surface

I am a professional artist based in Louisiana, USA, and have had a passion for creating all of my life.  I attended McNeese State University and obtained my BA in Visual Arts. My days are now spent with my spouse raising our three boys in our little farmhouse in the country, along with our two dogs and numerous chickens.

My works are best known for their attention to detail. I have experience in several different mediums, but my focus is on graphite and colored pencils. I use the best quality art materials and a range of techniques to achieve depth and detail, and I’m always looking for ways to improve.

Human and pet portraits are my specialty. I love being able to capture the soul of my subject on paper and giving my clients a piece they can treasure for years to come.

Along with creating portraits for clients, I own a small “snail-mail” subscription business geared towards children to educate them about wildlife called Writings from the Wild. This adventure began in 2019 and now thousands of children around the world have received their own handcrafted letters in their mailboxes. You can see more about Writings from the Wild here: Writings from the Wild
